A new photo essay captures the grim world of Brazil’s football hooligans Around the world they go by many names: firms, barra bravas, ultras. In Brazil the most hardcore and violent fan groups are known as torcidas organizadas. In 2009 photographer Gabriel Uchida began a project titled “FotoTorcida” and turned his lens away from the players on the pitch.

Liverpool set to loan out £20m signing after just one season

Lazar Markovic is close to agreeing a season-long loan move from Liverpool to Turkish side Fenerbahce. But boss Brendan Rodgers is adamant the Serbia winger DOES still has a future at Anfield. Lazar Markovic to join Fenerbahce on loan – but Liverpool want him back

Lazar Markovic is to join Fenerbahce on a season-long loan from Liverpool in search of the regular first-team football that has eluded him at Anfield. Liverpool have agreed terms with the Turkish club over the Serbia international’s move and the 21-year-old is close to finalising the move to Istanbul.
