United's transfer embarrassment continues amid claim Galatasaray rejected 'indirect' bid to sign star playmaker Sneijder

United previously came close to signing the Dutch midfielder from Inter Milan in the summer of 2011 in a £35million deal but pulled out of the deal due to Sneijder’s £200,000-a-week wage demands.
