Today marks the 45th anniversary of the famous phrase of President Carreras, “Barça is more than a Club”, spoken on 17th January 1968. In the historical context of the dictatorship of General Franco, this phrase was a subliminal way of saying that FC Barcelona, in addition to a sports club, was also a powerful medium of expression of the Catalan identity.
