Arsenal have received no contact over a potential takeover and the majority shareholder, Stan Kroenke, would have no intention of selling his controlling stake, Press Association Sport understands. Reports have suggested that a Middle East consortium are preparing a £1.5billion bid to buy out the Premier League club at around £20,000 a share.

Last updated at 18:56 GMT Fifa has admitted for the first time that the 2022 World Cup in Qatar could be moved to winter if medical reports show summer temperatures would be dangerously high. Jerome Valcke, the general secretary of football’s world governing body Fifa, has previously suggested that Qatar would have to make the request to move the tournament.
